1 sierpnia 2024 r. na Rynku Miejskim, w 80. rocznicę wybuchu Powstania Warszawskiego, o godz.17.00 czyli w Godzinie „W”, przy dźwiękach syren, dzwonów i klaksonów, licznie zebrani mieszkańcy upamiętnili uczestników niepodległościowego zrywu. Kibice barlineckiej Pogoni BF’20  odpalili race i oddali cześć Bohaterom Powstania. Głos zabrała Bernarda Lewandowska Burmistrz Barlinka, która przypomniała zebranym historię Powstania Warszawskiego. Następnie mieszkańcy przeszli pod obelisk marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego, gdzie Burmistrz Barlinka Bernarda Lewandowska wraz z Wiceprzewodniczącym Rady Miejskiej Jackiem Poleszczukiem  i przedstawicielami Związku Dzieci Wojny i Związku Kombatantów i Byłych Więźniów Politycznych RP wraz Prezesem Związku Krzysztofem  Wolskim złożyli symboliczne wiązanki kwiatów i zapalili znicze. Wartę pod pomnikiem pełnili harcerze z Harcerskiego Szczepu Puszczy Barlineckiej.
